The Seething Hatred For Each Other "Bitter Bowl II"
L.A. Shocks the Fire Ants, 13-10!!!!
* The Buckets left the NSFL at mid-season just a few games later for political reasons. They later joined the WFFL as a founding member. ShaMe Wells was kicked out of the NSFL for the 4th time later that season. Among other things that made him a lousy FBPro player to ruin the game for everyone he played against: he had been caught using illegal plays, stealing plays, and using fake names to take over other teams so he could trade their best players to himself.
Pre-Game Hype:
Charlotte
(4-0) @ L.A. (3-1)| Kickoff is set for 7 PM PST/10 EST Friday night (6/27/03)
A "must see" event on NetScoreBoard (we are working on a fix for XP users to
watch as well) It's PAYBACK time... Charlotte had this on his old website after beating me last season: I'd like to pour THAT Bucket right back on his Piss-Ant head this season! The gauntlet was thrown last season, Shane, now pick it up and let's get ready to RUMBLE!! "The ShaMey" is predicting a win for his flaming Fire Ants- by at least 14-1/2 points, adding this commentary: "LA has in my opinion the most comparable roster to Charlotte, the only problem is he can't figure out who is healthy and who isn't. I could easily enjoy writing about this game, but there is no need, the game can speak for itself." - Shane Wells Here is what I
think of that prediction:
|
| Los Angeles- The big one. Last year's first
meeting had the Fire Ants come into L.A. in week 9 and give the Buckets their only regular
season home loss, 34-18. |
Week 5 Pix
Shane rubbed it in last year but this time I got to dump the Bucket on that flaming Piss Ant!
Del Thompson breaks outside to the Fire Ant 1-yard-line midway through the 2nd Quarter. He would score on the next play to tie it at 7-7.
TE Jimmie Giles hauls in this big catch to keep the drive alive just before the half. The resulting FG tied it at 10-10. It was Maitland's best play of the game.
Safety Mike Singleton intercepts Joe Montana to thwart this Fire Ants drive in the final minute of the 1st half.
Rookie Cornerback Luther Bradley makes a clutch pick early in the 3rd quarter, adding to Fire Ant Montana's woes.
This 49-yard FG by L.A.'s Brian Clark midway through the 3rd Quarter snapped a 10-10 tie- and later proved to be the GAME WINNER!
Late in the 3rd Quarter the Fire Ants gambled on 4th down at the L.A. 5 yard line- but the Buckets came up with this HUGE SACK- the 2nd time they stuffed Charlotte on 4th down tries in the game!
Former Buckets tailback Lydell Mitchell fumbles the ball over to his old teammates at the L.A. 19 yard line with 52 seconds left- sending the home crowd into a frenzy as L.A. goes on to pull off the big upset 13-10!
