L.A. Pulls Out Gutsy
14-9 Win At Showtime
Showtime, Detroit- The L.A. Buckets came to town and won a gritty
battle with the host Showtime Raiders, 14-9.
L.A. overcame 3 Interceptions and a lost fumble to somehow pull it out against a very
tough Showtime team.
The Raiders led 9-0 and appeared on their way to an easy home win when this play occured:
"Showtime's ball on the 50 yard line.Third and just
over 3 to go. 7:24 left in the third quarter. The score is Los Angeles 0, Showtime 9.
The pass from Showtime's QB1 #4 Neil Jetter is caught by WR4 #82 Bob Morrison for a gain
of almost 44 yards. Morrison fumbles the ball. The ball is recovered by Los Angeles's S1
#33 Monroe Milburn. Milburn runs for a gain of just over 8 yards. Milburn is tackled by T1
#53 Armand Wheeler. First down, Los Angeles! "
L.A. CB Bobby Rowe was beaten badly on the quick hitter but made the play of the game by
stripping Raiders WR Bob Morrison at the Bucket's 5 yard line. Had Showtime scored, it
would have made it 16-0 halfway through the 3rd Quarter. But L.A. went on to score 2
clutch TD's to pull out the big road win!
Bucket RB Carlos Myles had 104 yards to lead the way!
