Buckets Fall As
Conway's Hail Mary Is Answered
Conway- Facing 4th and 7 with only 14 seconds to play and traling 20-17
from their own 32 yard line, the Conway Computer Geeks ( 12-2 ) got the miracle finish by
beating the Buckets ( 11-3 ) blitz with a 68-yard deep swing pass to their FB as time
expired- stunning L.A. 24-20.
"Hey man tip your caps to them- it was a great call and their QB slipped a couple
tackles and made the throw- and the FB barely outran the defense into the Endzone. It was
a stunning finish to a great game!" Buckets coach Jay T. said.
Thanx for the great game, Conway coach Matt W.!
Cheers,
Jay

----From Conway coach Matt W.:
Conway(AP) - The
Conway Computer Geeks over came a four turnover day in a torential downpour to edge out
the visiting Los Angeles Buckets 24-20.
Normally sure handed Darren McFadden lost two fumbles including one in the endzone to
setup a 14-0 LA lead, and QB Mitch Mustain threw two uncharacteristic interceptions to
further dig the Geeks into an early hole.
However, the Geeks fought back as Coach Weston called a great game making the LA pass
defense look silly shredding them for over 400 yds, a personal record for 2nd year QB
Mitch Mustain.
Things looked dim for the Geeks as Mustain threw an INT as the Geeks were trying to setup
the winning score with 2:13 left.
The defense shined once again holding the Buckets and giving the offense one last chance.
Then the play of the game came as Mustain scrambled to avoid the blitz and hit a wide open
Felix Jones for the game winner.
"Coach Weston, Tell us about that last play."
"Well, it is just a simple play where the recievers take the coverage one way and the
FB goes behind them. In situations like this, it has the perfect routes as long as the
pass protection holds up. " Said Coach Weston.
"There is a lot of speculation about that play and it's origins. Can you shed some
light on that for us?"
"Well, I don't really know who designed it for sure. I've heard it's credited to Alex
K, and I've also heard that it's origins are much much earlier than that. One thing is for
sure. The person who designed it originally deserves credit for a really great play."
said Coach Weston.
