Buckets Open The 2011 Season With 34-31 Thriller Road Win In Miami
Miami Biscayne-
The Los Angeles Buckets ( 1-0 ) were locked into a fierce battle with the home-team Miami Cubans ( 0-1 ) going back and forth but were able to pull it out with a gutsy 34-31 win at the end. "Hey man I love these new VPNFL-style ratings. I was kind of hating them at first with how easily the Cubans drove on us- but it works both ways. You are going to see Offensive numbers go up for all teams this season- that's for sure!" Buckets coach Jay T. said. "Miami coach Rick E. will adjust and win a lot of games this year!"Los Angeles overcame a drastic fumble by HB carlos Myles that was picked up by Miami's CB Che Guevara and returned for 3 yards and a Cubans TD that made the score 27-21 Buckets. But Miami made it even more interesting by scoring again twice- and with 5 minutes to play it was 31-27 Cubans. But L.A. was able to drive the field and get a flip pass to HB Gregg Irvin for a 5 yard TD with just under 2 minutes to play. The Buckets Defense FINALLY showed up and held down the Cubans on their final drive as Miami ran out of downs at their own 7 yard line with seconds to play and L.A. ran out the clock.
Thanx for the GREAT game, Miami Cubans coach Rick E. !
Cheers,
Jay
